I love quotes so...here are some great ones....
- Courage is when you understand that there is something more important than your fear
- Courage is no the absence of fear, it is overcoming one's fear
- Integrity is what you do when no one is looking
- A diamond in the rough...is always found in the rough

Friends
In the words of TLC..."What about your friends?"
Sometimes, its hard to manage several groups of friends, especially, if at one point they were all, you're predominant group.
so in the words of someone who has made many new friends and lost some along the way, i encourage you, the reader, to actively maintain your friendships. You wont realize what you've lost, until you have truly lost it.

Top 10
So in an effort to understand mankind. I ask you the reader to tell me what would constitute a woman to be "Top Ten" material, (1) Is it beauty in the face? (2) is it a banging body? (3) does mind come into play? (4) does heart come into play?....For the record i don't support objectifying women to list but i do like to understand the cognition behind these things. So i ask:
What are the qualification for a woman to be on your "Top Ten"?
*Ladies feel free to participate*

My 10 Lessons of Lent 2009 edition!!
As some of you may or may not have known, i gave up my cell phone for lent. For those of you who do not know what lent is, here is wikipedia's definition of Lent:
The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer — through prayer, penitence, almsgiving and self-denial — for the annual commemoration during Holy Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Conventionally it is described as being forty days long, though different denominations calculate the forty days differently. The forty days represent the time that, according to the Bible, Jesus spent in the wilderness.
Well, at the end of everything, i believe there should be a lesson learned, and in my case, there where 10 lessons i learned. I am choosing to share this with everyone b/c i have truly been affected by this time of self-denial and i figured why not. lol.
1. Cherish each moment: Every second is a chance to change and every moment is one lost or gained. So make the most of every moment!!! No matter the circumstances.
2. Stop running to the next thing in fear that you will miss something: The thing about having a phone/texting is that you are always planning for the next event. So much so, that you are nearly running from one event to the next. How can you possibly enjoy one thing when you are so ready to get to the next thing? Take your time and refer to number 1.
3. Plan ahead: Your mother told you a million times but I’m going to tell you once more. If you have never planned ahead, wait until the day your phone dies and you wished you had. Instead of saying “im going to just call you”, and then you end up wasting time lingering around until you get/make the call that determines your next move, just say “We will meet here at 7:30pm, and if plans change, then call me”. Always think two steps ahead. It will save you heart ache.
4. Be resourceful and never give up: In this past 40 days I have been lost more times than I would like to think necessary. But because I new I had no other choice then to figure it out, I simply did. So when things go wrong as they often will, rest if you must but don’t you quit.
5. Enjoy yourself: In the words of Katt Williams, you need to get in tuned with your star player. Spend at least an hour or two alone everyday. What you do with that hour is up to you, but make sure it involves reflection. Think about what you did that day, who you spoke to, who you affected, what experiences you had, where you went wrong, what could you have done better, and what were your accomplishments? These are important questions to ask your star player everyday! If you don’t know you, then no one else can ever know you.
6. Let people in your life know they matter: No matter what occurs in life, nothing is certain but death and taxes. So be sure the people in your life know they matter and that you love them. You never know the next time you will see them, and you never know how your words/actions will affect them. P.S. show affection whenever it strikes you, I know I am not a naturally affectionate person, but if you need a hug or feel like giving one, do so, because actions will always speak volumes over any words.
7. NOTHING MATTERS: Its easy to be bitter, and just discount people for a variety of things. But it is much easier to not carry that load on your heart and just LET IT GO. No matter what it is, it probably DOESN’T MATTER. Always ask your star player, will this matter tomorrow? Will this matter in a year? Will this matter in 5 years? Will I loose sleep over this? If you answered yes to any of the above, then solve the problem and keep it MOVING, you can’t stress what doesn’t matter because you are giving silly things too much energy and attention….just live your life!!!
8. Be solution based: this is for the women in the audience. Some women are often complaint based; we like to talk about the problem for the purpose of venting. But after we have vented, we show little care in exactly how we are to solve the problem, and wait to enter with our rebuttal for why nothing will work except complaining (*** not all women are this way***). It is important that in acknowledgement of a problem, we do not REACT, but instead we PROACT. How do you positively solve this problem, with haste? Once the problem is solved, don’t dwell, get back to living, NOTHING MATTERS!
9. Be Brave: When you can count on nothing else, you can count on yourself. So with no one to call for help, sometimes you just need to man/woman up, and deal with it head on. Being brave is like an epidemic; it will inspire you to continue to be brave and will inspire those around you to conquer their own demons. There is a certain satisfaction that only comes from being your own hero.
10. Have Faith: If you do nothing else in times of uncertainty (which was all of lent for me), have faith that everything will be okay, and everything happens for a reason. Its okay not to know what’s going to happen next, sometimes its better that way, just brace yourself and have faith in his plan.

Hmmm
So it has been 33 days since i have given up my cell phone, 7 days shy of the end of lent. Like every great story, it is as you near the end that you begin to look back to the beginning. I originally gave up my cell phone for 2 reasons,
1 - i needed an escape that in essence permitted me to not really go anywhere, i needed to be free but without actually running free. I figured involved students who care about their grades do not have such luxuries as simply disappearing whenever it is convenient for them.
2 - Something in me told me that i needed to give up a luxury to understand some sort of lesson. It was with little hesitation that i came to the conclusion that my cell phone had to go. I simply did, i was impulsed to do.
Now that i near the end... I must ask what is it that i have learned...
I think above all, i have learned to love - Friends +Family alike
I have learned to be strong and to do what feels right when it feels right.
so here is my advise to you...
Dear Reader,
Live for the moment, do not fret over the next thing to come, and never regret. Every situation has a lesson, and you must always learn something from every aspect of your life. So if you new you messed up, say Sorry. If you feel some kind of way about someone, express it!! By no means do i ask that you crash your car into the driver who cut you off in the road, but i do mean that you hug your friends whenever it so strikes you and you kiss the one who makes you makes you smile more than any other. Do not let anything hold you back from doing what feels right.
Sincerely,
Ms.Flow
P.S. On April 12th, i will post my 10 lessons for Lent 2009. I do not speak gospel by any means but i do feel the need to share my hard learned lessons during this time of sacrifice.

Lent
So... I have given up my cell phone for lent. It has been 23 days and counting.
My extreme boredom has caused me to dive in-to the internet world, head first.
I visit facebook several times an hour, live in twitter, and read peoples blogs like its my job. I have officially become a loser.
3 1/2 more weeks.....
then i can get back to civilization
hopefully there will be no long term effects.
keep me in your prayer :(

Detail... is the Mark of a Poet....
Its all in the description
The way the words fall off our lips
like sweet silky milk chocolate
it hits your ears before it leaves our lips
the way a TWX broken in half stays bonded by the Carmel
Its the detail that intrigues you
and the delivery that captures you
yeah...............poetry

AHHH tom-foolery and petty women
I don't exactly know the purpose of blogs, i figure its just to write whatever you feel, or showcase some shit i guess.
So here is one of those, however i feel type of situations.
I hate girls who get mad at other girls over some boy that they are not with. Petty tom-foolery like that annoys me beyond reason.
Why are women unable to find a united front and not let unimportant boys control their lives. Is it low self-esteem or a lack of self worth. cause i don't know.
anyway.... that is all

5 minutes 5 lines
"He loves me He loves me not"
I sing to myself
As I pick the violet petals from his mind
I watch them... as they fall
Glistening in the ray on light that is my faith
I watch them turn to gold when they meet the soil
Rooted by the repetitively consistent thoughts of his
"Loves Me"... "Loves Me Not"
I found myself watering his petals with my tears

Diets
If there was a High Carb Diet, i would be ridiculously pleased!
Yet, In an effort to be happy and not large at the same time, i have chosen to compromise with complex carbs...but its not the same. :o(

Our Last Conversation
No, I don't believe you
No, I can't read your actions
No, I don't know how you feel
Please, stop pretending
I can take it
Give it to me straight
You know i'm heartless
I can handle the worst
JUST Say it!!
......Fine
I'll say it for you,...
(pause)
-----(Inner thoughts)----For once, i don't know what i am about to say,
I don't want to say what i want to think he feels
and it be true.
I don't want to say what he may not feel
and it be false.
But i just can't wait until he scrounges up the nerve to say it himself.
Teetering between the uncertainties of our interactions, i come up... inconclusive
(I pause my own thoughts for reflection)
--------
So here it goes... "You ______ ME!"
[ He stopped, fighting me, and just looked
he did not have an expression of disdain, nor was it one of joy or anger
He genuinely had no thoughts
He then gathered his things and walked out]
I didn't cry
he didn't turn back
although a small part of me wished he would,
he never came back
I think he was just tired of me
tired of dealing with...
everything i had to offer
Chai Tea
Chai Tea Latte
No foam
With Soy Milk Please
2 packets of Sugar in the Raw
I pay something around 4 dollars
For what i can make at home for Free
But its the idea that it was made for me
custom and on the spot
they pull out the organic soy milk
Apply the steam
and scrape off the foam
And if they don't make it perfect..
I can ask that it be modified or that i receive a brand NEW cup of Tea
Sometimes its as easy as...
"May i get one more pump of chai please?"
But its not always that easy
Sometimes i have to get loud...
"This is literally just hot milk!! Is there even Chai in here?"
Alls well that ends well
And in fact this is true
because ...In the end
i get my cup of Organic Bliss
and carry on as though i have not missed a beat in my step

Hmm
Flow
I spit organic poetry
I imagine the risks i would've taken had i not been so afraid
I live 5 years ahead of the present
I am always dreaming
I love the possibility of possibilities
I dance around the idea of being natural
I would be covered in ink if i had no plans of getting married in a backless dress
I still plan on covering my body in words
I will one day write the best love story never lived
I hope that i inspire others
I get unnecessarily happy when i hear good music
I am really proud of people who do the unexpected
I fall in love everyday with something new
I live my life, as if i will have many
In my next life i know i will be able to sing
I have an alter ego
